Aaseeyah's 'Neon' (glow in the dark party)

Aaseeyah Rasheed glowing with her friends

The most happening family in the city of saints is back with another bang. Something never seen here before, for their eldest Aaseeyah Rasheed's 14th birthday, a Neon party. There could not be a better theme for a party, which happens during the most sizzling days of summer, on 6th of July.

Thoughtfully planned, the time for the party was 8 pm. Perfect hours to let Black lights work maximum glow to all the neon colours that guests were requested to arrive in. Loud 'techno music' the essential part of this theme, welcomed the audience.  Annas Rasheed, little brother of the birthday girl rocked the scene with his break dancing skills alongwith his friends. This evening was full of lots of games, lots of prizes and lots of fun.

Lights at the party were deliberately kept low. Whereas plenty of fairy lights added superb 'glow in the dark' effect to the entire scene. Special paints with highlighters were used for 'face painting' of children at the party, colours which reflected glows of different shades under the Black lights.

Aaseeyah's gorgeous mom Mala Ahsan made sure to get all 'neon party essentials' available at the scene. Children and their parents were presented 'glow sticks', 'glow in the dark bracelets', 'glowing goggles'. The wonderful hostess that Mala is, she made sure every guest must enjoy the party but also 'glow' at the fullest too. There was a lot of bling, bling, glow, glow at the scene.

A loving and caring father that Mr. Ahsan Rasheed is, like always he presided over the party and lend a hand to his wife and rest of his family in hospitality.

Another fantastic characteristic of this family is the love, respect and honour extended to their elders and their love and care in return. Although, Mr. Ahsan Rasheed's parents live in Lahore, they are always there to bless their children at such occasions. Aaseeyah's grandmother and Ahsan's mother Mrs. Almas Rasheed, alongwith her daughter Aayesha Rasheed was also there to attend this celebration.

As their tradition goes, the dinner was sumptuous and scrumptious. Also full of variety to suit the tastes of every generation. Great effort Mala and Ahsan! May God bless you with plenty of more happy occasions. Happy birthday Aaseeyah!Let's see what unique new theme, you guys come up with for the next party.

Summer is finally here, although, the weather still turns unpredictable at times. But still, one feels like taking a dip in the cool, cool water of a crystal clear pool.  M.G.M (Multan Garrison Mess. Commonly known among  Multanis, by its' old name 'services club'), opens up, pool doors for all its' members every 15th of April. The pool is open air, so it works on seasonal basis. From April to September/ October (if weather allows it).  Last year, the pool remained open, only till May, after that, it was shut down for renovations & could not be reopened because of the 'dengue' scare. MGM pool has always been, undoubtedly the biggest & the best in this city, with an excellent filtration plant to boast & an extremely dedicated team of military men as workers, for maintaining th

Leading lady of Multan Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar

Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar is a name synonymous with women empowerment in entire South Punjab. She is a living proof of the saying, 'empowered women, empower other women'. She became a member of Majlis-e-shurra of Pakistan and served at that position from 1982 to 1985 and dedicated herself for the betterment of underprivileged women of South Punjab.  Mrs. Farrukh Mukhtar was fully aware of the talents of the women of this area and knew how their skills were exploited at home and at work. She was determined to uplift and raise their standards of living, through education and trainings. She was among first people to ever demand a separate university for the girls of Multan and remained persistent about it. Finally, it bore fruit, three decades later, in form of women's university Multan.  Not just education, but she has worked for the social and economic empowerment of the women too. Annual debates at SOS Herman Gmeiner school

Glimpses from the event When you first visit SOS Herman Gmeiner school Multan, you are amazed by its majestic architectural design, beautifully decorated class rooms, functional libraries, meticulously pruned playgrounds, clean walkways and glistening environment. You look at the well mannered, disciplined, full of smiles students, extremely efficient staff members, all this makes you believe that this must be a high end school. To be honest, it is equally great in all its standards. Rather better in some, as they have Rosetta Stone library, through its audio/video English learning methods, children of this school have acquired exceptional accents and perfect pronunciations. Each student has access to laptop in computer class, their teachers use smartboard alongwith blackboard. Even their teachers are assessed and guided with the help of executive committee members. There is a subject of  'general knowledge', which is based on the colorful books in their library, it requires th
